So, the 20th anniversary of Op Lalang has come and gone? Did people remember that day?
Unfortunately, like Bob, i had a prior commitment yesterday and couldn't make it down from seremban to the forum in the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall. Was in church this morning and the visiting speaker, a good friend who received my email link to my site, reminded the church members of the significance of yesterday. i later went to preach in canaan baptist church and did my part to remind the members there about yesterday.
Read about it on Bob's site:

Bob couldn't make it either but says that malaysiakini has a writeup on it. If you are a subscriber, then you can access their article at:

Can a Christian ever justify the use of such a law? Well, the Group Chief Editor of one daily whom I know is a Christian did.
I quote him
"Any decision to use the ISA would not make the leadership popular, particularly in the eyes of the world, but for many Malaysians, this could well be the only solution to keep the peace and stability."
Who are the many Malaysians?
Is ISA the only solution to keep the peace and stability?
Maybe there are many Christians who are like this Group Chief Editor. Peace and stability and also prosperity are much more important than justice and compassion.
I cried when I watched Utuyakumar's parting message on Malaysiakini tv. He may have said certain unwise things but no one created in the image of God deserves the ISA. He knew it was coming but ready to sacrifice himself for his community.
I guess I just need to continue to meditate on Isaiah 9:6, 7 to avoid falling into depression. Pastor Wong's message 'No More Gloom' based on Isaiah 7-9 last Sunday was timely.
