those interested to hear how hebrew (read in a modern style) is pronounced, go to this link:

http://www.aoal.org/hebrew_audiobible.htm

the hebrew audio files of the OT books can be painstickingly downloaded one by one and burnt onto a cd or copied into an ipod since they are mp3 files.

the original files came from audioscriptures.com but they seemed to be no longer free: (but i have a cd copy made sometimes ago!)

Thanks Reb for the resources. will be helpful for my DIY study
for introductory hebrew, try the university of texas, austin web site. just pick any of the year's courses in hebrew, e.g. 2002.

they go through alphabet by alphabet with pronunciation. try also the flash exercises for drills.

For multimedia vocabulary list (and "flash card" pages to print out and test yourself on the bus) that you select from over 500 words already entered try: דָּבָר: Biblical Hebrew Vocabularies project.
thanks tim for reminding of this. i was at the singapore sbl conference when they introduced the website. but then it was in the introductory stage with just a few words. i note the site has grow considerably. will be useful for my Hebrew class students.

Well, the more people use it, especially the more who we can approve to make changes to the data and so add words, the quicker it will grow, but we have over 500 words now...
