The video has been doctored. You don't read it in Malaysiakini do you? Neither has any Opposition parties came out with any statement so far even though this has been circulating around since last Friday.

Someone thinks by doing this it helps the Opposition. But on the contrary it only damages the Opposition's credibility.

How can the old man admit, when he is quite senile now, getting quite forgetful.
of course, in one sense, the entire clip is doctored as it has been sliced together from many sources. but the interesting thing is in the first part when mahathir himself comments about anwar. that part even if pulled out of context still means what it says. looking at the background, the first part is more like an interview. the other clip looks like he is on the air. the ending section is an assortment.

for the part that he is now senile, i don't buy that bullshit. mahathir in his prime has a formidable memory. he often gave prepared speeches depending on his memory power without resorting to notes. when he was grilled at the royal commission, he says he don't remember everything. partly true, but partly i don't think he will admit anything then.

Read Malaysiakini's exclusive

http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/79227

In recent weeks, the opposition has been showing a video-clip at their ceramah where Mahathir was depicted to have conceded in a comical tone that he had brutally mistreated his then deputy, Anwar Ibrahim.

“I mean any stupid fool would have seen that it was a sarcastic remark made by me but they (opposition) make use of such things and this convince voters that they are not really knowledgeable about things or they are not very sophisticated in the use of the media,” he said.

I was also following the old man who is an expert in sarcasm in my last paragraph.
of course, he is an expert in sarcasm. but 'caustic' would be a better word to use to describe his remarks.

yet there is no denying when he resorts to using such language and then hides behind it as merely being sarcastic that there is always some truth behind the remarks. you think he is just jesting? he is no fool to know he can get away with it by denying it afterwards. it is like hitting a punch and then denying there was any malice behind it. you believe that?

afterall, anyone can see that lingam can also say 'well, he looks like me, he talks like me'. and to deny it in the face of testimonies when others like tengku adnan does not deny it is not lingam but that lingam was probably drunk.
