Legion, Gabriel, and hasatan

in the movie, Legion, the angels gabriel and michael fought each other after they find themselves on opposing sides! how much truth is there in all this angelogy stuff? especially those shaped by hollywood? or those shaped by over 2,000 years of church tradition?

does the devil really look like this?

below is a good article on angel gabriel as well as on the topic of angelology in the bible:

http://www.bibleinterp.com/articles/gabriel357902.shtml

p.s. those taking  the OT wisdom literature class for 2nd semester 2010, you will come across the term hasatan (or commonly translated as Satan in english translations) in the book of Job.

who is this hasatan? fallen angel? god's messenger? god's agent? accuser? god's adversary? the tempter? unsure?

go and read everson's article.

deuteronomy - the God who keeps promises

my OT colleague, rev dr paul barker, studied under prof gordon wenham at gloucester. paul has written a small book on Deuteronomy which is something along the lines of his PhD thesis. the book is selling for RM16 and available from STM book service. the book came a bit late for his public lecture at CTEE Luther House PJ. the book is also available in chinese as it was translated and printed in taiwan.

anyone interested? we can make arrangements.
